I was checking the new IKEA catalogue when I came accros a very interesting page that inmediatly caught my eye. Curiosly, it was not featuring furniture, but a new food arrival to their restaurant and food section: new veggie balls that not only are vegetarian, but also gluten-free and lactose-free. To be precise, these veggie balls were first launched in April 2015 (IKEA Spain). Though you could say that they are not "that" recent, it wasn't until now (checking that catalogue) that I discovered they were rolled out. For this reason, I consider them new to me. It's widely known that IKEA's "regular" meatballs are extremely popular and one of their most demanded dishes at the restaurant. I'm not able to give any feedback on them as I've never tried them prior, nor they are gluten-free. I cheerish these new meat-less balls for being suitable for vegetarians, vegans, lactose-intolerant and coeliac. So many things to cater with just one product! These vegan meatballs are made from chickpeas, carrots, maize and kale, and contain no animal ingredients. Also, according to their claim, they are free from the following:
